PINNACLE WIND POWER LLC is the vision of Randy Paul DuBois
a 54 years experienced innovator, inventor and business person from the West Michigan area.
The decision to become involved with wind power comes from concern for the
environment, his inventive
nature and years experience in
the automotive electrical business helping others adapt automotive alternators
for use on alternative power systems.
Randy
Paul Says," I've had the idea of a low wind speed power turbine and charging
system in my head for many years but it was always something I was going
to do later. Well later is here and this is what I want to do for the remainder
of time I'm on this planet. I hope to make as many people as possible, "energy
independent", and leave the world a better place for future generations using
the clean renewable power of the wind.
I have
a life time experience building machines, products and all types of widgets &
gadgets. I have worked on hundreds of projects so I have experience in many
different areas, and I can tell you, this is a very good idea. It could help
everyone
become independent from the uncertainty of energy
prices, supply and eliminate the pollution from conventional power
production and not deplete our natural resources. Plus as we turn more to
electric & hybrid motor vehicles
wind power can charge up our cars, and hydrogen can be used for fuel, think of
the pollution that could eliminate and the money you can save.
My automotive electrical experience started in
1968 when at age 15 my father
started SOUTHWEST TRUCK & AUTO ELECTRIC SERVICE in Wyoming Michigan, A
business that still family owned and run by my brother. I wanted to spend time with my father & learn about
business so I was always helping him with whatever it took to start & run
the business.
I did a little of everything, including substantially modifying the building ourselves to accommodate large
trucks. I was always an assertive and self motivated. Whether it was building
shelves, buying parts, setting up production, he would just tell me what he
wanted done and I would figure out how to get the job done. If I was asked to do
a project I didn't know much about I learned to ask questions to those
who had experience, and then I would listen.
In the
early 70's with the encouragement of our father my two older brothers and I
started DUBOIS INDUSTRIES, inc. This business involved winding stators. Stators
are the copper wire field winding in your auto's alternator. You can see the
copper windings of the stator if your autos alternator is accessible and has
lots of holes. The stator has great influence over the overall amperage output
of your alternator. For instance, you can change the output of an alternator
from 60 amps total output to 100 amps total output just by changing the stator.
In the stator business we were asked many times to wind special stators that
would make automotive alternators work better for low speed alternate power
applications.
The first stator winding
machines we purchased were reconditioned Dayton winding semi-automatic winders
from Ford. We purchased the first group of winding machines but later on after
we bought out the assets of a small machine shop we started making our own
stator processing machines. Our father was a tool maker by trade before he started
his auto electric business. Not only were we building tools and machines for
ourselves but later we started building for other companies as well. If I listed
the many different machines and things I built during this period it would go on
for pages. Besides many different kinds of machines I've build race cars, 4X4's,
go carts, dune buggies, mowing equipment, boats, houses,
hovercraft, a diving helmet, I even built a Bensen Gyrocopter with my oldest
brother, that did fly.
During the mid 80's I developed the Quick Start line of
starter & alternator repair and upgrade kits. This required me to write and
produce the layout for 35 different instructions. I was able to sell the Quick
Start Brand through J.C.Whitney ,
Relco Corp Specialty auto parts catalog, Summit Racing Equipment and others for over 15 years.
I also developed the
Quick
Start Copper Formula electrical connection compound
which was sold through Meijer stores
in 1997 I received a U.S. Patent for the
"Iceberg" finned rear housing
for the CS-130 alternator to improve cooling and alternator life.
In 1999 I developed the web site
www.alternatorparts.com
which has become one of the most popular web site on the internet within the
auto electric niche. I am currently supervising the development of our newest online auto
electric supply store at:
store.alternatorparts.com
The new online store offers many new features including "search" plus customers
can self track orders. With the new store we will be representing the largest
supplier of auto electric parts in the nation, they have over 10,000 auto
electric products we will offer.
After starting the internet site I developed the unique Extreme Duty Dual Rectifier
alternator which is featured on the front page of our site at
www.alternatorparts.com . The
Rectifier is the #1 component that fails on alternators under high amperage
demand. With dual rectifiers it spreads the load over a much larger area so it
makes the alternators much tougher, less likely to fail. We've installed
these alternators on many police & emergency vehicles and they have proven to be
as tough as nails.
Starting the online auto electric store has renewed my
involvement in alternative power sources. I am always getting calls or emails
from customers doing different alternative power projects. I try to help them in
what ever way I can with information, products and such.
For many years I have
had my own ideas of how to extract power from the wind. The wind blows someplace
every day on our planet. It's non-polluting, renewable and it's free. It's a
resource we must take full advantage of.
I've
conducted much research into wind powered electricity production
and the need for Low Wind Speed Turbines. The federal government through Sandia National Laboratories (http://www.sandia.gov/wind/)
and many states including my home state of Michigan are sponsoring
low wind speed power generation. This is exactly what my wind powered alternator
design is about, low wind speed power generation at low cost.
My
unique ideas are for a low wind speed turbine as well as the alternators that
the turbine drives. Plus I'm sure there will be
innovation in the area of power storage.

Energy
storage involves separating water into it's oxygen & hydrogen components by
electrolysis using the excess current generated on windy days. Then, on less
windy days convert that stored energy into electric current by one of several
methods.
Energy is something we all use, this is a way you can directly participate in
developing a new non-polluting system to help as many people as possible become
truly energy independent. The prototype needs to be built. This project
requires a full time manager, this will cost money. Using the funds from paid team Pinnacle members
and corporate sponsors to finance the project
development. I have
the inventive nature and experience to get the job done but it will take a
company to build the prototype, a good project manager and money to get this
noble plan built . I ask
you to join up as a corporate sponsor or paid member in Team PinnacleWindPower.com , YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Sign up and you will receive additional details as they
develop.
Together we can get the job done.
